Episode 103 - Greatest MLB Division Series
Join us on HIT THE MARK! as we look at the greatest Division Series in Major League Baseball history. HIT THE MARK! goes all the way back to the 1981 strike when MLB had their first "unofficial" division series, thanks to a MLB strike which split the season in half and produced a first and second half winner playing in a best-of-five playoff series to determine the division winner. Officially, MLB started the Division Series in 1995, and from there the unique best-of-five format has produced some wonderful series and memories. In Part 4 of our look into the history of the New York Jets, we are introduced to Joe Walton, popular offensive coordinator under previous head coach, Walt Michaels. Under Walton, the Jets record their first ever consecutive seasons of double-digit victories. However, Walton's tenure is filled with inconsistent, underachieving play and led to the creation of the term "Same Old Jets".
